The map shows Earth in near real time with daylight, nighttime, and twilight transitions based on astronomy calculations.

How often does it update?

The web renderer updates once per second and the livestream pipeline continuously renders updated frames.

Where does city time data come from?

City local-time labels use time-zone logic aligned with the IANA time zone database.

Can this be used commercially?

Yes. The map data sources are selected for commercial safety and tracked in our data credits and legal evidence docs.

How are ads and sponsorships handled?

Ads only load after consent is accepted. Sponsorships or affiliate content are explicitly disclosed on-page or in-stream.
